The Crystal-clear Waters of the Turquoise Coast the Blue Voyage by Ilhan Akşit
Ilhan Akşit was born September 10th, 1940 in the Bekilli district of Denizli. After completing his primary and secondary education in Denizli, he graduated in 1965 from Ankara University, Department of Archeology, Faculty of Languages, History and Geography. He served as a Ministerial Representative in Aphrodisias excavations in 1966, and was appointed as the Museum Manager of Çanakkale Museum in 1968. He founded the War Museum beneath the Monument of Martyrs in 1973 with the remnants he gathered from Çanakkale and surroundings with utmost effort. Mr. Akşit, who was appointed as the Manager of Bodrum Underwater Archeology Museum in 1976, was commissioned as the TGNA National Palaces Manager in 1978. During his post, he rearranged and opened to tourism Dolmabahçe Palace, Beylerbeyi Palace and Küçüksu Pavilion, which at the time were closed for visits.In 1982, he stepped into publishing life by establishing AKŞİT PUBLISHING aimed at introducing the historical and cultural accumulation of Turkey. The author has many books which have been published so far in Turkish as well as foreign languages, the main ones of which are "Architecture Sinan, His Life, Work and Patrons, The History and Architecture of the Hagia Sophia, Antique Cities of Turkey, Ottoman Empire, Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, The Hittites, The Western Anatolian Civilization, Ephesus, The Land of Light Lycia, Cappadocia, Pamukkale, Antalya, Museum of Chora, Hagia Sophia, Topkapı Palace, Capital of Three Empires Istanbul, Land of Civilizations, Turkey, Mythology - The Story of the Two Sides of the Aegean, A Blue Romance, Journey to the Green - The Black Sea, Eastern and Southeastern Anatolia: Where History was Carved in Stone and Mediterranean Civilizations", he also wrote many articles about tourism for many magazines.
