A Palestinian Rendezvous With Nature by Samar Najia

$ 20.00

A Palestinian Rendezvous with Nature brings verse and entomology together in a bittersweet clash of wills between humanity and the natural world. The poems were inspired by the author’s son, Karim Gharbi, an entomologist whose fascination with the natural world was born from his Palestinian heritage and his deep respect for the land and the myriad life-forms it sustains.

Samar Najia is a Palestinian-American poet and writer living in the United States. A Palestinian Rendezvous with Nature, her second poetry collection, is inspired by her son, Karim Gharbi, an entomologist. Her first poetry collection, Yamma, Yaba, Oh Mother, Oh Father, addressing the genocide of Palestinians, was published in 2026.

Karim Gharbi earned a degree in Biochemistry from Virginia Tech and a Master’s degree in Entomology from the University of Hawaiʻi. While he has a deep appreciation for all of nature, entomology has remained his primary focus—from his academic studies to his current work in higher education.
