Organic home made and fair trade handpicked these 50 g. sample packs of Za'atar are picked fresh in the Gaileee region by the Sindayana Arab Women's Cooperative and a cooperative of 55 Palestinian farmers in Jericho. Your purchase goes to helps women's groups in the Galilee region, the people of Jericho, and foster cooperation between Israelis and Palestinians in the region.

Produced from the hyssop or Syrian marjoram. Sindyanna of Galilee's quality za'atar mix is produced in a the traditional way using wild majoramwith environmental considerations and organic goals. All za'atar leaves are shade dried and bought from Palestinian farmers in the Galilee region as well as a 55 farmer cooperative in Jericho, West Bank.

Wild collection of herbs is done by the Jammain cooperative with 18 women members and is a certified organic collection by IMO of Switzerland. Certified fair trade, they use the dried wild thyme leaves, grind them and combine them with locally grown roasted sesame seeds, sumac berry powder, and a touch of Dead Sea salt. Palestinian sesame seeds are superior in taste to the African sesame commonly used in commercial zaatar. And, unlike commercial varieties, there is no citric acid in the zaatar Ingredients: dry thyme, roasted sesame seeds, sumac, and Dead Sea salt.

Made fresh by Canaan Fair Trade's women cooperatives in West Bank. A portion of the wheat is boiled, sun-dried and cracked into bourghul, then hand-rolled in freshly ground whole wheat flour, and finally steamed and sun-dried by our women-owned cooperatives. This product helps employs Palestinian women as well as farmers. It also suppors Palestinians through a microloan program, the Canaan Scholarship Fund, and Trees for Life.
