| This story was made by youths at the Lajee Centre in the Aida Refugee Camp in West Bank. About 4,500 Palestinian refugees live in the camp - located near Bethlehem. More than half are children. The families have lived there since the creation of Israel in 1948 forced them to flee their homes. The Boy and the Wall is a childrens book made and illustrated by youths in the refugee camp. It tells of their everyday lives and struggles as child refugees. Proceeds from this book go to support the camp and the activities of the Lajee Center. |
